THE dating app 3somer has released new data which reveals which nation is having the most threesomes.

Its statistics show that the United States is the place to go for anyone looking for a ménage à trois, followed by Brazil and then Britain.

It also suggested New York was the American city with the largest appetite for three way sex, followed by Los Angeles and Chicago.

The app boasts more than 100,000 users and is often used by people who want to bring a bit of extra spark to their relationship.

John Martinuk, co-founder of 3somer, said more and more adventurous people are becoming interested in group sex.

"More and more celebrities are reported to have had a threesome with other people," he told The Sun Online.

"Publications like GQ, Cosmopolitan, and YourTango frequently offer guides to navigating threesomes, whilst technology helps to facilitate threesome culture.

"For example, Craigslist has a section for people to look for a third lover and this section generates a lot of posts.

"Tinder has facilitated hookup culture. Accordingly, smart phones also facilitate threesome culture."

The app's own data suggests that 68.59 percent of heterosexual couples are looking for a female to romp with, with just 8.98 percent looking for a man.
