Huge crash sparks 20 car pile-up in morning catastrophe on M8 near Glasgow

A HUGE car crash this morning sparked a 20 car pile-up on the M8 near Glasgow.

Emergency services rushed to the scene near the Erskine Bridge at 7.55am, with the road locked down.

The M8 eastbound was closed between junction 31 and junction 30 while the vehicles were recovered.

It has since re-opened.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Five vehicles were involved in a crash on the M8 junction 30 eastbound."

It's understood around 15 cars then ran into each other.

Police said there were no reports of any serious injuries in the crash.

The incident comes four days after after a crash on the M8 between junctions 29 and 30 involving a car, a van and a lorry.

Two people were treated for minor injuries following that collision.
