Knife-wielding woman wearing dressing gown runs into Shropshire Co-op covered in blood after two peo

A WOMAN wearing a dressing gown and slippers ran into a Co-op covered in blood before two pensioners were found brutally stabbed in their bungalow.

Eye-witnesses described how the middle-aged woman ran into the local convenience store, pleading for help, yesterday morning.

A witness said: "I was pretty scared. She just ran in and there was quite a lot of blood."

The woman called for help just after 8am, with police rushing to an address in Bomere Heath, Shropshire, to find two injured pensioners. They are both now in a serious condition in hospital.

The woman who raised the alarm suffered a stab wound to the chest while a man was found at the property with multiple stab injuries. Both were airlifted to hospital while an elderly woman was also taken to hospital with a serious head injury.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

It is understood police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the attack.

Neighbours said that they had not heard anything out of the ordinary until they saw police descending on the scene.

One neighbour said: "The first we knew about it was the two air ambulances which landed in a field by the school.

"It's not unusual to hear low flying helicopters from RAF Shawbury but these were really low.

"Then there were loads of police and a road ambulance.

"Nothing like this happens here. We are probably the youngest people on the street, it is all old people.

"Apart from the ambulances and police we had no idea what was going on."

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Moxley said: "I understand that news of this incident will be alarming to the local community.

"However, I would like to reassure people that we do not believe that there was any risk to the wider public. Our officers are conducting a thorough investigation."

The stabbing reports come after two people were killed in Wolverhampton in a knife rage attack.
