AN NHS taxi driver called to help a woman in labour at her home has been accused of allowing a passenger to URINATE in her front garden.

Furious Keith Lowe, 64, claims the driver gave permission for the man to wee on a tree outside her daughter's house as he arrived to drop off special medical equipment at the posh estate.

The granddad-of-three, who took a snap of the brazen act, had arranged for his daughter Emma Lowe-Marshall, 36, to give birth at her home in Farsley, Leeds, last month.

But when the taxi driver pulled up with the oxygen and other medical supplies a passenger he had collected is said to have got out, unzipped his trousers and relieved himself.

Stunned Keith told The Sun Online: "It was totally, totally out of order.

"The taxi driver just said 'he has to do it'.

"But he didn't have to do it at all and I told him get off my land now and I'm going to report you to the authorities.

"It's disgusting and shows no respect."

Keith slammed the driver for Amber Cars, contracted by the local NHS trust to provide supplies for home pregnancies, after he arrived with a passenger in his car.

The retired construction technician added: "It beggars belief to do this.

"They're an agent for the NHS.

"While getting paid for this contract off the NHS, the driver was also at the same time running other fairs, effectively getting paid twice.

"He then allowed this other person get out of his car and urinate in my garden.

"My two young grandchildren were upstairs and could have seen through the window.

"He must have driven past other venues where he could have stopped to do it."

Emma, a physio, gave birth to a baby boy called Basil.

Andrew Pennock, group operations director at Veezu, which owns Amber Cars in Leeds, confirmed the driver has been suspended.

He said in a statement: “We are extremely sorry for the distress this incident has caused to the Lowe family.

"Veezu takes complaints against drivers very seriously and the driver in question was immediately suspended from our system as soon as we became aware of the incident.

"He is no longer one of the selected group of drivers eligible to complete jobs as part of our taxi services contract with Leeds Teaching Hospitals.”

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust said it was informed about the incident by the taxi firm.

A trust spokesman said: "We are assured that the appropriate action has been taken against the driver of the vehicle who no longer delivers equipment on behalf of this trust.”
