BRITS are set to be battered by torrential rain amid FOUR yellow weather warnings for thunderstorms across the UK today.
The Met office warnings are in place until this evening, with several areas under caution until as late as 8pm.

There is a yellow alert for thunderstorms covering areas of London, Birmingham, Norwich and Hull until 6pm this evening.
Moving south, another thunderstorm warning is in place for Exeter, parts of Plymouth and Somerset until 8pm.
Those in the Scottish Highlands are also set to face a wet and wild afternoon which lasts until around 8pm.
Meanwhile, Belfast and Derry in Northern Ireland will experience similar conditions and are under a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms, again until 8pm.

Flooding has already affected parts of the M6, near Coventry and schools in Bedfordshire have been forced to close.
Travel disruptions has been felt by those travelling on Southern and Thameslink services in certain areas throughout East and West Sussex.
Met Office forecasters said that heavy rain and thunderstorms will move northeast across the area - with some transport disruption likely throughout the day.
At 6.45am this morning the yellow alerts were extended eastwards and upgraded to a "medium impact" thunderstorm warning.

The Met Office said: "An area of heavy rain and thunderstorms will move northeastwards during Tuesday morning.
"This will bring 10-20 mm in 1 hour to many places within the warning area - but also a smaller corridor of torrential rain giving 30-40 mm in 1-2 hours in places accompanied by frequent lightning and gusty winds."
Brits have been told to expect spray and sudden flooding, which could lead to tricky driving conditions and some road closures.
Lightning strikes or flooding could cause train and bus delays or cancellations.
A total of six flood alerts have been issued across the UK for today.
Wednesday will be more of a showery day rather than persistent rain, but drier in the south east.
As of Thursday there will be some showers but temperatures will start to rise towards the weekend.
Met Office spokesman Stephen Dixon said: "By Friday there's some possibility of rain in Northern Ireland, the west of England, it will be generally drier in the South East.

"The weekend could get up to the high 20s or low 30s, the south east will see the warmer weather.
"The week will be sitting relatively warmer for this time of year but more subdued than we've seen, but areas will hit heatwave criteria as we get to the weekend."
